Aimé. M. Releases Visuals For Single “MAPENZI
Aimé. M., a Chicago based Burundian artist has today released the much anticipated visuals for his single “Mapenzi”. This single, taken off his upcoming “Afrobeat” album, has been gaining steady momentum since the official audio release late last year.
The song title “Mapenzi” is derived from the East African language of Swahili, and translates to “Love”, as evidenced in the video where Aimé. M. is seen professing his faith and devotion to a significant love interest.
Mapenzi was written by Aimé. M. and produced co-written by Rubanza Jay, who is from Burundi and currently residing in Kampala, Uganda.
The video was shot in location in Dallas TX.
Aimé. M. was born in 1988 in a former refugee camp that was located in Rilima, Kigali. He later lived in two other refugee camps in Tanzania. Finally in 2002, he resettled in the United States of America with his family in Baltimore, Maryland, where he started his music career.
As a student at Baltimore’s Southwestern Senior High School, Aimé. M. nurtured his rhyming and performance skills by battling classmates and working to develop his raw talent.
His move to Chicago helped solidify his fan base in the Midwest and the increased exposure led him to greater heights including working on a collaborative single with Kidum. His current release “Mapenzi” is playlisted in Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi & Tanzania.
